Motion Recruitment is seeking a ServiceNow Systems Analyst to support a large ITSM/ITOM environment and help turn requests into concrete ServiceNow requirements. The role emphasizes understanding the business need behind requests and driving clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and BRDs.

You will partner with IT stakeholders, facilitate backlog refinement, and coordinate UAT while aligning with platform standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM and CMDB.
• Proven background in requirements gathering and BRD creation.
• Strong Agile/Scrum experience and backlog refinement.

Job description

Duration: Long-term contract with potential for ongoing extension and conversion to full-time employment.

Our client, a globally recognized leader in biomedical research and healthcare innovation, has an immediate need for a ServiceNow Systems Analyst to join their business systems team.

The ServiceNow Systems Analyst will support a large and growing ServiceNow environment, primarily focused on ITSM and ITOM. The team currently has approximately 200 requests in the backlog, with another 10 to 12 new requests coming in each week, primarily from IT.

This role is ideal for a strong Agile Systems Analyst with extensive ServiceNow experience who can go beyond simply documenting requests. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding the why behind the request, identifying the underlying business need, and translating that need into clear, actionable ServiceNow requirements for the technical team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with IT stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements
• Understand current-state and future-state processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Translate business needs into ServiceNow-ready requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and BRDs
• Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, workshops, backlog refinement, and design discussions
• Evaluate requests against ServiceNow best practices, platform standards, and out-of-the-box functionality
• Work closely with ServiceNow Administrators and Architects to ensure requirements are clear, feasible, and aligned with the platform
• Support and help prioritize a large ServiceNow enhancement backlog
• Coordinate and support UAT with business and technical stakeholders
• Track requirements, activities, dependencies, and progress through completion
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
• Represent the ServiceNow team with a polished, professional executive presence

ServiceNow Experience:

• Strong experience with ServiceNow ITSM and ITOM
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow functionality and platform capabilities
• Experience with CMDB
• Understanding of out-of-the-box ServiceNow functionality vs. custom solutions
• Experience working with ServiceNow Administrators, Architects, developers, and business stakeholders
• Experience supporting ServiceNow implementations, enhancements, or modernization initiatives
• Experience with HAM and/or SAM implementations or go-live activities is a plus

Business Analysis / Agile Experience:

• Strong experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role
• Strong requirements gathering and business analysis experience
• Experience writing BRDs, business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Strong Agile/Scrum experience, including backlog refinement and prioritization
• Experience coordinating and supporting UAT
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-mapping skills
