Job summary

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Service Writer at the Hillman, MI branch. The role focuses on managing the service team, facilitating repairs, and ensuring work is completed promptly and correctly for customers.

Responsibilities include dispatching technicians, prioritizing service calls, invoicing, and maintaining accurate work orders. Strong computer skills and prior service experience are preferred; ERP experience is a plus. Join a team committed to excellence and growth.

Qualifications

• Previous service experience is highly preferred.
• A strong technical knowledge base is desired to answer technician questions.
• Must have strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Previous ERP experience is a plus.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of coworkers, as well as customers.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch Technicians to handle service requests and preventive maintenance (PM).
• Take, record and prioritize customer calls for service requests.
• Compile and complete customer summary invoicing.
• Maintain Technician time log.
• Answering internal and customer service calls.
• Opening and closing work orders, including accurately recording story lines into each order.
• Invoicing & accounts receivables assistance.
• Assist Technicians with finding technical data.
• Looking up parts/backing up the parts counter.
• Incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principles into daily activities and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance, including being ready for work at the designated start time.
