Job summary

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Service Administrator for our Byron Center, MI location within the Construction Equipment Group. You will manage the work order process, support the service manager, and handle customer and technician needs with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities include inputting repair write ups, preparing and closing work orders, payroll/time entries, and coordinating with other departments.

Qualifications

• Billing and customer service experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook; ERP a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management and ability to communicate with all levels of staff and customers.
• Ability to read and interpret documents; write routine reports.
• Basic arithmetic; handle money, weights, and measures.
• Basic reasoning to follow instructions and solve straightforward problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the service manager.
• Obtain PO numbers when required by customer protocol.
• Input technician job repair write ups in the business system daily.
• Prepare work orders for service manager review and close completed jobs.
• Manage payroll and time entries for shop and field technicians with manager approval.
• Contact customers for updates and gather additional information as needed.
• Coordinate with inter-company departments on open issues.
• Uphold Alta's Guiding Principles in daily activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain regular attendance.
