Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Service Writer to join our team. You will greet and consult service customers, coordinate workflow in the service department, and assist the warranty team to ensure accurate paperwork and timely repairs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma; college or trade certification is preferred. dealership service shop experience is a plus, and this is a safety-sensitive position offering growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• A college degree or a certificate from a trade school is preferred but not required.
• Experience in dealership service shop environment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Open and close work orders with detailed information.
• Record, adjust and report mechanics' time for work orders and payroll.
• Help cover service department phone calls.
• Resolve customer complaints when possible.
• Schedule appointments and coordinate service activities.
• Supervise and assist technicians with diagnoses and repairs.
• Assist with warranty repair paperwork flow.
• Check in new trucks delivered to the shop and complete forms.
• Consult with parts on special order parts and sublet repairs.
• Instruct next shift's service writer on special instructions.
• Keep Service Manager informed of customer complaints and technician issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
