Job summary

The Larson Group Peterbilt is seeking an experienced Service Writer to join our team in Florida. You will greet and consult service customers about their problems and assist in coordinating and communicating within the service and warranty departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• College degree or trade school certificate preferred.
• Experience in dealership service shop environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Open and close service work orders with detailed information.
• Record and report technicians' time for work orders and payroll.
• Answer and cover phone calls for the Service Department.
• Resolve customer complaints when possible.
• Schedule customer appointments and coordinate service visits.
• Supervise and assist technicians with diagnosis and repairs.
• Assist with warranty repair paperwork flow.
• Check in new trucks delivered to the shop and complete forms.
• Consult with parts on special order parts and sublet repairs.
• Instruct next shift's writer on instructions and appointments.
• Keep Service Manager informed of customer issues and technician problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Open and close work orders providing as much information as possible.
• Record, adjust and report mechanics time for work orders and payroll.
• Help cover phone calls for the Service Department.
• Try to resolve customer complaints.
• Schedule appointments.
• Supervise and assist technicians with the diagnosis and repairs of their jobs.
• Assist with warranty repair paper flow.
• Check in new trucks delivered to the shop and complete the proper forms.
• Consult with the parts department on special order parts and sublet repairs.
• Instruct the following shift's service writer on any special instructions and appointments.
• Keep Service Manager informed of all customer complaints and technician problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Should possess a High School Diploma.
• A College degree or a certificate from a trade school is preferred, but not required.
• Experience in dealership service shop environment is strongly preferred but not required.
