Job summary

Fyda Freightliner Walton is seeking a Service Writer to assist service advisors by gathering work order information, extracting engine codes, building estimates, and inspecting trucks for DOT issues.

You will coordinate with manufacturers on service bulletins and programs to keep technicians current, collaborate with parts for timely repairs, and maintain accurate maintenance records. Strong communication and data-entry skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check and have a clean MVR.
• Must pass physical and drug test.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with employees and vendors.
• Complete knowledge of in-house business systems and along with other partner systems.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist service advisors by gathering work order information and building estimates.
• Extract engine codes and inspect trucks for DOT issues.
• Coordinate with manufacturers regarding service bulletins and programs for the service department.
• Work with parts department to insure timely and efficient repairs.
• Maintain records and data entry accuracy for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Schedule and prioritize work based on routine preventive maintenance inspections.
