Job summary

Hunter Power Sports in North Carolina is seeking a detail-oriented Service Writer to support the service department with repair order preparation, technician dispatching, and daily shop coordination.

The role involves documenting customer concerns, keeping records organized, and communicating with the service team to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Prior service department or dealership experience preferred.
• Experience writing repair orders or dispatching technicians is a plus.
• Powersports, motorcycle, ATV, or small-engine industry experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Open, write, and update repair orders for motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, and other powersports vehicles.
• Document customer concerns, requested repairs, maintenance needs, and vehicle information accurately.
• Ensure repair orders include the details technicians need to complete their work.
• Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness.
• Update repair order statuses and maintain organized service records.
• Dispatch repair orders to technicians based on workload and availability.
• Coordinate work assignments to maintain an efficient shop workflow.
• Monitor repair progress and communicate job status updates to the service team.
• Help prioritize incoming work and identify delays or workflow concerns.
• Work with service management and technicians to keep repairs moving efficiently.
• Communicate clearly with technicians, Service Advisors, and service management.
• Help clarify repair order details and resolve documentation issues.
• Support daily service department operations and administrative tasks.
• Maintain accurate records and handle customer and company information professionally.
• Follow established dealership procedures and safety practices.

Hunter Power Sports is looking for an organized, detail-oriented Service Writer to support our service department with repair order preparation, technician dispatching, and daily shop coordination.

What You'll Do

Repair Orders & Service Documentation

• Open, write, and update repair orders for motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, and other powersports vehicles.
• Document customer concerns, requested repairs, maintenance needs, and vehicle information accurately.

What We're Looking For
