Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a heavy-duty truck and trailer mechanic preferred.
• Some experience with Heavy Haul, Walking Floor, Dumps, and other trailers preferred.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience with fabrication, suspensions, air brakes, electrical, hydraulics, body repairs and welding; liftgate/refrigeration a plus.
• Professional, motivated, positive, problem-solving attitude.
• Good communication and strong computer skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; adherence to safety policies.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and physical; valid driver’s license without violations.

Responsibilities

• Estimate cost of repairs and prepare itemized service orders listing parts and labor.
• Initiate and control the service order process, secure customer signature, and close when completed.
• Serve as a liaison between mechanics and customers.
• Comply with all Company policies, DOT, OSHA and other governmental standards and regulations.
• Handle payments of invoices per company policy
• Check in equipment for service work and sign out completed work to customers
• Other duties as assigned

Hale Trailer Brake & Wheel, Inc is a multi-location, full-service trailer dealership with an immediate opening at its Baltimore, MD branch. We are looking for an experienced Service Writer to join our team of trailer professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Estimate cost of repairs and prepares itemized service order, listing costs of parts and labor.
• Initiate and control the service order process, secure customer’s signature, and close when completed.
• Serve as a liaison between mechanics and customers.
• Comply with all Company policies, DOT, OSHA and other governmental standards and regulations.
• Handle payments of invoices (cash, credit charges, checks) per company policy
• Check in equipment for service work and sign out completed work to customers
• Other duties as assigned

• Some previous experience with fabrication, suspensions, air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, body repairs and welding. Liftgate and refrigeration units, experience a plus.
• Must present a professional, highly motivated, positive, results oriented, problem-solving attitude.
• Must have good communication & strong computer skills.
• Must be able to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
