Job summary

Hale Trailer Brake & Wheel, Inc in Baltimore, MD is seeking a qualified trailer mechanic to join our team. Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a trailer mechanic preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safe operation of trailers, tractors, containers, forklifts, and equipment.
• Experience with fabrication, suspensions, air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, body repairs and welding.
• Must have own hand tools and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, maintenance, installations, replacements and diagnostics on semi-trailers and related equipment.
• Work efficiently, safely, and in compliance with DOT, OSHA and company policies.
• Occasionally service work at off-site customer locations.

We are looking for a trailer mechanic to join our team of trailer professionals. Mechanic payrate $20/hr. - $30/hr. based on experience. Monday - Friday schedule (no nights or Saturdays).

Responsibilities:

Perform a wide variety of repairs, maintenance, installations, replacements, preventative maintenance, and diagnostic tasks for various makes and models of semi-trailers, containers, and related equipment in an efficient, timely, accurate, professional, and safe manner in accordance with all Company polices DOT, OSHA and other governmental standards and regulations. Service work may at times be performed at various off-site customer locations.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a trailer mechanic preferred.
• Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, containers, forklifts, power jacks, power tools, trailer parts and supplies.
• Must have previous experience with fabrication, suspensions, air brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, body repairs and welding.
• Must present a professional, highly motivated, positive, result oriented, problem-solving attitude.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Must adhere to all Company policies including safety policies and regulations.
• Must pass standard pre-employment drug test and physical.
