Whaley Foodservice in Greenville, SC is seeking a skilled service technician responsible for maintenance and repair of customer equipment, trained in at least three CFESA skill sets, on-call roster, and leadership to mentor teammates.

The role emphasizes safety, documenting work orders on a tablet, weekend/holiday on-call, and providing excellent customer communication while maintaining vehicles, tools, and uniforms.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Valid Driver's license and clean driving record.
• 1 year of applicable experience.
• CFESA Master Technician with three of the four CFESA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to SAFETY policies and use PPE.
• Troubleshoot and repair gas, electric, water, refrigeration and steam powered commercial kitchen and HVAC equipment.
• Document tasks on tablet (parts orders, work orders, timesheets).
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and status.
• Use proper hand and power tools for repairs.
• Monitor truck stock to ensure parts availability.
• Maintain service vehicle, tools and uniforms.
• Work independently with daily supervision.
• Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation and overtime when needed.
• Obtain correct part numbers from branch staff.
• Collect payment on COD jobs.
• Contribute to targets for response time and first-time fix rate.
• Attend available training to increase skills.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for maintenance and repair of customer equipment as assigned. This position is trained in at least three skill sets, maintains a high level of productivity, must have three of the four CFESA certifications and is assigned to the on-call roster. This position demonstrates leadership capabilities with the ability to mentor and train other employees.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Adhere to all SAFETY policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
2. Troubleshoot and repair gas, electric, water, refrigeration and steam powered commercial kitchen and HVAC equipment.
3. Utilize tablet to document task (parts order, work order, timesheet) on a timely basis.
4. Communicate professionally with customer regarding required repairs and status.
5. Use proper tools for repair, including hand tools and power tools.
6. Monitor truck stock to insure required parts are stocked on vehicle.
7. Maintain service vehicle, tools and uniforms.
8. Work independently with daily supervision.
9. Participate as scheduled for weekend/holiday on-call rotation and work regular overtime as needed.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Obtain correct part numbers through branch parts person.
2. Collect payment on COD jobs.
3. Contribute positively to branch targets for response time and first time fix rates.
4. Participates in available training to increase skill and knowledge.
5. Performs other duties as required.

CONTACTS

• Internal - Daily with branch staff; occasionally with corporate staff.
• External - Frequent and regular contact with customers. Occasional contact with factories for warranty purposes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Completion of a satisfactory background check and drug screen is required.
• Valid Driver's license and driving record that aligns with our safety standards.
• 1 Year of applicable experience.
• CFESA Master Technician with three of the four CFESA certifications.
