Job summary

A.O. Smith is seeking a Regional Field Service professional to perform maintenance and repairs on residential and commercial water treatment equipment. The role includes delivering salt, testing water conditions, and maintaining strong customer relationships across the service area.

Responsibilities involve coordinating with sales and support teams, documenting service calls, traveling in a company vehicle, and handling equipment deliveries. Travel to Oshkosh area plumbers occurs every Tuesday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 5+ years of related work experience or training.
• Proficiency with computers and programs, specifically Microsoft Office software, SalesForce, SAP.
• Proficient customer service experience.
• General understanding of local, state, and national codes / regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as a team to meet deadlines and goals.
• Understanding of water supply systems, pressure boosting systems, regulation, piping scenarios, etc.
• Associates degree in related field preferred.
• Field HVAC/Plumbing/Mechanical experience preferred.
• Trade Certification preferred.
• Experience with Control Systems (PLCs) and Building Integration Systems preferred.

• Maintain service vehicle inventory.
• Deliver units, parts, salt, filters to Oshkosh area plumbers every Tuesday.
• Provide service assistance to customers via telephone contact.
• Add service call photos to CRM.
• Handle salt deliveries and forklift unloading.
• Understand CRM scheduling and MAS sales order entry.
• Sign and receive orders from Water-Tec.
• Remove rental equipment when needed.
• Perform basic shop duties and building maintenance.
• Support other departments as needed.

Primary Function

Regional field service responsibility which includes but not limited to; customer site visits, defusing tense situations, maintaining relationships, servicing equipment, repairing equipment, delivering salt, dealer support and customer service support

• Utilize interpersonal skills to communicate professionally at all levels with customers and within the company.
• Provide written and verbal reports of service calls that incorporate the complete understanding of a Water System.
• Communicate with management, sales and customer service to resolve customer complaints.
• Travel in company vehicle in order to support and maintain service area.
• Maintain service vehicle inventory.
• Deliver units, parts, salt, filters etc. to Oshkosh area plumbers every Tuesday.
• Provide service assistance to customers via telephone contact.

• Take in salt deliveries and unload into warehouse via forklift.
• Understanding of CRM scheduling and MAS sales order entry.

• Removal of rental equipment when needed.
• Basic shop duties such as cleaning and building maintenance.
• Provide assistance to other departments as needed.
• Perform any other activities as needed or as directed.
