Southern Refrigeration and Mechanical, LLC is seeking a Service Technician to join our Greenville, AL team. This full-time, on-site role services mission-critical industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including NH₃ and CO₂ solutions.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs while supporting emergency calls and system startups. Collaboration with engineering and project teams ensures reliability and uptime.

Role Description

The Service Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Greenville, AL, responsible for servicing industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems in mission-critical environments. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled and preventive maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, and carrying out repairs on systems such as ammonia (NH₃) and CO₂ refrigeration and HVAC rack systems. The role involves field service visits to customer facilities, completing service reports, and communicating clearly with customers and internal teams about findings, recommendations, and next steps. The Service Technician will support emergency calls, assist with system startups and retrofits, and follow company safety procedures and regulatory requirements. Collaboration with engineering and project teams to ensure system reliability, compliance, and optimal performance is a core part of the position.

Job Region: Southeast - NC, SC, GA, TN, etc.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Maintenance & Repair skills for industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues.
• Candidates should possess Field Service experience, including working on-site at customer facilities and completing service documentation.
• Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills to interact professionally with clients and explain technical information clearly.
• Candidates should possess general Maintenance skills, including preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety-focused work practices.
• Experience with ammonia (NH₃) and CO₂ systems, industrial controls, or PSM/RMP compliance is highly beneficial.
• Relevant technical training or certification in HVAC/R, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to work safely in industrial environments, lift and move equipment as needed, and respond to occasional after-hours service calls.
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States are required.
