Job summary

Butler Machinery Company is seeking a Service Advisor in Devils Lake, ND to coordinate and schedule service technicians, invoice work orders, and communicate quotes, job status and scheduling. The role requires proactive communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include assisting the Service Manager with quotes, assigning technician work, and ensuring accurate repair orders while upholding safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school and/or technical school education or equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education required.
• Strong technical knowledge.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Service Manager in quoting, estimating, and delivering service contracts upcoming jobs into the service department.
• Assigns jobs and work areas to Service Technicians according to their skills and knowledge.
• Seeks customer feedback proactively, anticipates problems and responds promptly.
• Responds and follows up to employee issues and concerns.
• Reviews repair work orders for accuracy concerning parts, materials and labor, and approves the release of equipment for delivery to the customer.
• Works with the Service Manager in all aspects of the service department and may fill in as Service Manager in their absence.
• Advises Service Manager of all customer complaints.
• Meets with Service Manager on a regular basis to review department performance profitability and efficiencies.
• Exhibits technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within the dealership’s area of responsibility.
• Follows all safety rules and adheres to policies and procedures in manuals and the employee handbook.
• Conducts self in the presence of customers to present a professional image of Butler Machinery Company.
• Seeks training to develop knowledge base and skill set.
• Participates in company/location communications and customer events.
• Maintains positive working relationships with peers and management; supports teamwork and customer service.
