Job summary

Concordia College in Moorhead is seeking a Service Plumber to perform maintenance and repair of campus plumbing systems, keeping them in operable, reliable condition across more than 30 buildings. You will join a Facilities team that values craftsmanship, tackling projects from water mains and sewer mains to fixtures, water heaters, drains and roof drainage, with on-call duties a few times a year.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Journeyman license or ability to acquire within 6 months.
• Competent computer usage.
• Two years trade/tech college degree in related field.
• Service plumbing experience.
• Proven apprentice leadership & mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies defined for this position.
• Work under the supervision of the plumbing department with primary responsibility for maintenance and repair or replacement of campus plumbing systems (water mains, sewer mains, fixtures, water heaters, drains, etc.).
• Provide care and security of all tools and plumbing equipment; assist coordinating with Welder and Kitchen tech for repairs.
• Maintain availability for call back to perform emergency or critical repairs (on-call approx. 3–4 times a year, report within 30 minutes of notification).

About the Role

Theprimary responsibility of this position is to perform maintenance and repair ofplumbing systems across campus and ensure they are kept in an operable andreliable condition at all times

What You'll Do

1. Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position.
2. Work under the supervision of the plumbing department with primary responsibility and ownership in the maintenance and repair or replacement of:
   1. Campus water mains
   2. Campus sewer mains
   3. Faucets, valves, shower heads, mixing valves, etc.
   4. Hot, tempered and cold water systems
   5. Water heaters and water softeners
   6. Water closets, urinals, lavatories, bathtubs, and other fixtures
   7. All drains, traps, waste and vent lines
   8. Sump pumps, roof drain systems and campus surface water drainage systems
   9. Installation and repair of all piping systems related to plumbing
3. Miscellaneous
   1. Makerecommendations for needed repairs, replacements, or new systems
   2. Provide care andsecurity of all tools and plumbing equipment assigned to this trade
   3. Assist Welder infabrication and repairs of various equipment on campus
   4. Assist Kitchentech in repairs and maintenance of kitchen equipment
   5. Maintainavailability for call back to perform emergency or critical repairs. This "on call" schedule will require oncall duty approximately three to four times a year. When designated "on call" must be able to report to campus within 30 minutes ofreceiving call.
