Job summary

Mauer Automotive in Inver Grove Heights, MN is seeking a Service Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the Service Department, drive profitability, and lead a high-performing team of advisors, technicians, and detail staff.

You will hire, train, coach, mentor, and manage the Service Drive, Bays & Detail, ensuring exceptional customer service, compliance, and safe, efficient workflows. A strong emphasis on communication, process improvement, and CSI performance is required.

• Excellent computer skills, including Excel.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to influence management on process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, mentor, and manage team members.
• Hire, train, motivate, counsel and monitor the performance of all service department team members.
• Provide enthusiastic leadership to shape team members' attitudes and build morale.
• Hold weekly department meetings to ensure effective communication and profitable operation.
• Forecast and execute goals, KPIs, and objectives for the department.
• Monitor performance using reports and surveys; ensure compliance with laws and OEM warranties.
• Conduct monthly commissions and manage payroll details.
• Coordinate with Parts Manager to grow both departments.
• Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimize comebacks.
• Keep work areas and customer waiting area clean; maintain safe work environment.
• Establish relationships with schools for recruitment.
• Prepare pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operations.
• Conduct monthly reviews for service technicians and advisors by the 5th of each month.
