Job summary

VIP Tires & Service in Bangor, ME is seeking a Service Manager to lead a high-performing automotive service team and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will set expectations, coach technicians, ensure safety, and uphold VIP’s mission to earn automotive customers for life.

You will hire and develop staff, schedule effectively, maintain facilities, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive continuous improvement across service operations.

Qualifications

• Two years related experience in automotive service management.
• Completion of a two-year college or technical school program recommended.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license in state of residence.
• ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required; P2 and G1 recommended.
• State Inspection License required where applicable.
• Equipment Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure workplace safety is Priority #1 and follow safety policies.
• Team Building: Hire and develop an extraordinary team.
• Schedule the team to meet customers' needs across all hours.
• Communicate with the team via daily huddles and meetings.
• Deliver the 5 for 5 process to educate customers about vehicle conditions.
• Dispatch and assign work orders to technicians efficiently.
• Attend off-site training sessions several times per year.
• Maintain facility and equipment to standards and ensure compliance.
