Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Service Coordinator to lead and support front-end operations, ensuring a high-quality shopper experience. You will coordinate checkout flow, train team members, and coach staff to meet productivity and service expectations.

You will oversee tasks with leadership, drive improvements in shrink and financial outcomes, and engage in community initiatives as a role model for the team. This is a hands-on, front-line leadership position at Meijer in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum (includes curriculums for Cashier, Service Desk, and Courtesy Team)
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment
• Good communication skills, friendly, customer oriented, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency
• Has organizational and multi-tasking abilities
• This position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing
• The amount of weight or frequency of such activities may vary depending on a team member's shift during the day, the day of the week, the month or season, and/or other staff on duty

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present
• Coordinate and drive actions and activities involving the monitoring and control of shrink and financial business outcomes within areas of responsibility. Proactively escape concerns to leadership as they arise
• Champion participation in community programs. Lead by example with behaviors and team member resource group (TMRG) engagement
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care
• Perform on-the-job/hands-on team member training and mentoring
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots, and development/training programs
• Assign tasks to team members within the department, in partnership with the team leader, and follow up to ensure task completion
