Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support the service and tire team under the Store Service Manager. This role focuses on driving service labor, parts, tires, and fleet business, while ensuring store operations run efficiently and shop productivity stays aligned with company standards.

The role requires high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year in automotive service, strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to upsell and manage POS

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of automotive service environment experience.
• One year of automotive service sales experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to exercise judgement and work independently.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to handle difficult customer situations.
• Comfortable utilizing up-sell techniques.
• Strong cash handling skills, including the use of POS systems.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated consistency, accuracy and follow-through.
• Ability to work Days, Nights, Holidays and Weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist service staff in customer care, work orders, and register transactions.
• Maintain service area housekeeping and stock related to tires.
• Follow POS, inventory, and vendor payment procedures.
• Partner with management to address customer issues and opportunities.
• Drive sales for service center through engagement and coaching.
• Train and coach associates on Pep Boys Customer Care Process and CVIs.
• Monitor shop productivity and safety; support back shop operations.
• Uphold safety, health, and company policies.
