Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack of California is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support the Store Manager of Service in driving service labor, parts, tires, and fleet sales. You will help organize the service repair business, ensure efficient store operations, and maintain shop productivity to Pep Boys standards.

You will train and coach service selling associates on Pep Boys Customer Care, oversee CVIs, and assist in daily shop operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in automotive service environment.
• One year of automotive service sales experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to handle cash and process POS transactions.
• Experience as a work lead or supervisor.
• Ability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager of Service in customer care, work orders, register assistance, and merchandising including tire stocking.
• Follow POS, inventory, refund and vendor payment policies.
• Coach service advisors on customer interactions and the Pep Boys Customer Care Process.
• Drive service center sales by engaging customers and coaching staff.
• Support training and development of service selling associates and CVIs.
• Monitor shop productivity, workflow, and safety to meet company standards.
• Create a safe, healthy work environment and ensure compliance with policies.
• Communicate effectively with staff and customers.
• Act as primary supervisor in the absence of management; manage opening/closing duties.
• Maintain an organized, clean shop and adhere to policies.
