Job summary

Pep Boys in Lansing, IL is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support the service and tire team, assist in driving sales across service labor, parts, tires, and fleet business, and partner with management to keep the service repair business organized and shop productive.

The role involves training and coaching sales associates on customer care processes, performing CVIs, maintaining shop safety and efficiency, and ensuring day-to-day operations meet company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of automotive service experience preferred.
• One year of automotive service sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in customer care, work orders and register tasks, facility maintenance and merchandising, including tire stocking.
• Follow POS, inventory, returns and purchase policies and vendor payment practices.
• Work with management to address customer service issues and business opportunities.
• Drive service center sales goals through personal engagement and coaching of advisors on customer interactions.
• Assist in training service selling associates on the Pep Boys Customer Care Process and CVIs, and store systems operations.
• Monitor shop productivity, workflow and safety, and support back shop operations.
• Collaborate with management to maintain a safe, healthy work environment and comply with laws and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with staff and customers.
• In the absence of management, act as primary supervisor and manage opening/closing responsibilities.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all policies, safety and environmental rules.
