Job summary

Sonic Automotive is seeking a Service Advisor to run an efficient and profitable service department within a busy dealership environment. You will control costs, build a loyal clientele, and set and achieve sales and profit objectives while maintaining detailed service records.

The role requires two years of dealership experience, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of vehicle maintenance. Full-time employment with weekend availability and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Must have Dealership experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Two years of experience in a dealership position.
• General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Sales experience preferred.
• Professional personal appearance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.
• All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
• All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Schedules service appointments and collects customer and vehicle data.
• Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner.
• Provides complete and accurate written cost estimates for labor and parts; establishes promised time.
• Monitors repair progress and informs customers of changes in estimates or timings.
• Test-drives vehicles or refers to test technician as needed.
• Maintains Customer Satisfaction Index ratings.
• Advises customers on car care according to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintains dealership service hours per customer repair order.
• Follows regulations and safety policies; reports accidents.
• Ensures safe work practices and environmental compliance.
