Job summary

Sonic Automotive is seeking a Service Advisor to run an efficient and profitable service department in Seattle. You will maximize production, control costs, and build a loyal clientele while maintaining service records.

The role requires dealership experience, strong communication, and the ability to read and interpret maintenance needs and cost estimates. You will ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and high customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Must have dealership experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Two years of experience in a dealership position.
• General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Sales experience preferred.
• Professional personal appearance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Must pass pre-employment checks including background, MVR, drug test, credit, and valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Schedules service appointments and collects customer and vehicle data.
• Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner.
• Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts; establishes promised time.
• Monitors repair progress and communicates changes to customers; explains costs and time requirements.
• Test-drives the vehicle or refers to the test technician as necessary.
• Maintains CSI ratings at or above the manufacturer/branch average.
• Advises customers on vehicle maintenance per manufacturer's specifications.
• Maintains dealership standards for hours per repair order written.
• Follows federal, state, and local regulations including hazardous waste disposal and OSHA requirements.
• Follows safety policies and reports accidents immediately.
