Job summary

DCH Paramus Honda in Paramus, NJ, is hiring a Service Advisor to help customers schedule automotive services, explain repair options, and generate accurate estimates. You will liaise between customers and technicians, verify warranty coverage, and maintain service records onsite.

The role requires prior Service Advisor experience, basic mechanical understanding, and a valid driver's license. You will work with a team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and earning customers for

Qualifications

• At least 1+ year experience as a Service Advisor preferred.
• Basic mechanical understanding of automobiles required.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate services and repairs by identifying customer needs and vehicle issues.
• Develop estimates by costing parts, labor and deductibles.
• Prepare and document Repair Orders and verify warranties.
• Communicate repair needs to customers and technicians clearly.
• Maintain customer records and service history onsite.
• Administer manufacturer warranty for qualifying repairs.

You will report to the Service Manager.

This is an on-site position in Paramus, NJ.

Responsibilities:

As a Service Advisor, you will initiate automotive services and repairs. You will do this by ascertaining vehicle performance problems and service requests, verifying warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates, writing repair orders, and maintaining customer records.

• Be a communicator and liaison between the customer and technician; ensure the technician understands the customer's needs and the customer understands the needed and recommended service/repairs.
• Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculate customer's payment, including deductibles.
• Prepare repair orders (RO), obtaining approval signatures and entering RO into service database system.
• Communicate additional repair and service needs to the customer based on vehicle inspection.
• Administer the manufacturer warranty for qualifying vehicle repairs.
• Keep customer informed of service specials, completion times and service expenses.

Qualifications:

• Previous Service Advisor experience.
• 1+ years experience as an automotive technician.
• A team player who is focused on providing customer service.
• Basic mechanical understanding of an automobile.
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence
