Job summary

Ford of Latham, a Lithia & Driveway dealership, is seeking a Service Advisor to spark repairs, write estimates, and coordinate between customers and technicians at our Latham, NY location. This on-site role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus and an annual compensation range of $70,000 to $120,000, depending on experience and performance.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years as a Service Advisor (and/or automotive technician), strong customer service skills, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as a Service Advisor, preferred.
• 3+ years experience as an automotive technician a plus.
• Team player focused on providing customer service.
• Basic mechanical understanding of an automobile.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• As the Service Advisor, initiate automotive services and repairs.
• Check vehicle performance problems and service requests, verify warranty and coverage, develop estimates, write ROs, maintain records.
• Serve as liaison between customer and technician to align needs.
• Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculate payment and deductibles.
• Prepare repair orders and enter into service database; obtain approvals.
• Communicate additional repair needs based on inspection.
• Administer manufacturer warranty for qualifying repairs.
• Keep customers informed of service specials, times and expenses.

You will report to the Service Manager. This is an on-site position located in Latham, NY.

Responsibilities:

• As a Service Advisor, you will initiate automotive services and repairs.
• You will check vehicle performance problems and service requests, verifying warranty and service contract coverage, developing estimates, writing repair orders, and maintaining customer records.
• Be the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician; ensure the technician understands the customer's needs and the customer understands the needed and recommended service/repairs.
• Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculate customer's payment, including deductibles.
• Prepare repair orders (RO), obtaining approval signatures and entering RO into service database system.
• Communicate additional repair and service needs to the customer based on vehicle inspection.
• Administer the manufacturer warranty for qualifying vehicle repairs.
• Keep customer informed of service specials, completion times and service expenses.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years experience of Service Advisor experience, preferred.
• 3+ years experience as an automotive technician a plus.
• A team player who is focused on providing customer service.
• Basic mechanical understanding of an automobile.
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence

Est. Annual Compensation: $70,000.00-$120,000.00 Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge/bonus/commission, location, etc.
