The Bungalow Hospitality Group is seeking a Server in Long Beach, CA to deliver attentive hospitality and guide guests through the food and beverage experience in a fast-paced, elevated bistro.

Qualifications

  • California Food Handler Card required or obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • California RBS Certification required within 60 days of hire.
  • Minimum 3 years of serving experience in a fast-paced, elevated bistro or restaurant.
  • Good working knowledge of California wines and craft cocktails; ability to make recommendations.
  • POS experience preferred.

Job description

Objective/Purpose of the Position

The Server delivers attentive, knowledgeable, and gracious hospitality, guiding guests through the food and beverage experience in a fast-paced, elevated California bistro. This role is responsible for accurate order taking, food and beverage service, and creating memorable guest experiences.

The Server works closely with the General Manager and Assistant General Manager to uphold service standards and responsible alcohol service.

Tasks/Responsibilities
Guest Service
  • Greet and serve guests warmly, attentively, and professionally throughout the dining experience.
  • Guide guests through the menu, offering food and beverage recommendations and pairings.
  • Take accurate orders and enter them correctly into the POS system.
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly and to standard, anticipating guest needs.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and elevate to management when necessary.
Food & Beverage Knowledge
  • Maintain strong knowledge of California wines, craft cocktails, and the food menu.
  • Make confident recommendations and pairings tailored to guest preferences.
Responsible Beverage Service
  • Serve alcohol responsibly in compliance with California ABC laws and RBS requirements.
  • Verify identification and refuse service to intoxicated or underage guests; notify management of concerns.
Operations & Compliance
  • Follow cash-handling, POS, and tip-reporting procedures accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation requirements and report concerns to management.

  • Frequent interaction with guests and staff, including clear verbal communication.
Preferred Experience/Minimum Qualifications
  • California Food Handler Card required, or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification required within 60 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of serving experience in a full-service, fast-paced, elevated bistro or restaurant environment.
  • Good working knowledge of California wines and craft cocktails, with the ability to make recommendations and pairings.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, elevated bistro environment with a genuine passion for food, beverage, and hospitality.
  • POS experience preferred.
