Job summary

fhcexternal is seeking an hourly Dietary Aide to support meal service and dining area setup for residents. You will assist cooks, deliver meal carts, and ensure sanitation in the kitchen and dining spaces across shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities include recording refrigerator temperatures, stocking supplies, and adhering to food safety regulations and HIPAA guidelines. Prior experience is preferred, and English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of food service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation.
• Practices sanitation and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up dining area and trays for meals.
• Assist cook/supervisor with food preparation and service following guidelines.
• Deliver residents' meal carts and clean dining areas.
• Record refrigerator temperatures and maintain stock.
• Wash and store dishes; maintain kitchen sanitation.
• Follow Federal, State, and Community rules and policies.
• Attend department meetings and comply with HR, ethics, safety, HIPAA.
• Pursue required certifications/licenses if applicable.
• Complete mandatory training and competencies annually.
• This is an hourly position with shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job description

You will be responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.

• Responsible for assisting cook/supervisor with food preparation and service using specific procedures, following guidelines, and regulations.
• Responsible for delivering residents' meal carts, and setting and cleaning assigned dining area(s) to serve residents.
• Accurately recording temperatures on refrigerators; clean and stock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes; adhering to overall sanitation and maintenance of the kitchen.
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Community rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certifications/licenses, if applicable.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.

This is an hourly position, expected hours include days, evenings, some weekends, and some holidays.
