Job summary

fhcexternal in a healthcare setting is seeking a dedicated dietary aide to help set up dining areas and prepare meal trays while adhering to dietary restrictions and safety guidelines.

You will assist cooks, deliver meal carts, record temperatures, and maintain sanitation. The role requires attendance at meetings and completion of annual trainings in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year food service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic food preparation knowledge required.
• Sanitation and safety practices knowledge.
• Knowledge of federal, state and community rules and regulations.
• Willingness to follow health, HIPAA and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Set up dining areas and trays for meal service, following dietary restrictions and food safety guidelines.
• Assist cook/supervisor with food preparation and service per procedures.
• Deliver meal carts and maintain dining area cleanliness for residents.
• Record refrigerator temperatures; clean and stock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes; maintain sanitation and kitchen upkeep.
• Attend departmental meetings and complete required trainings.

Job description

You will be responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.

• Responsible for assisting cook/supervisor with food preparation and service using specific procedures, following guidelines, and regulations.
• Responsible for delivering residents' meal carts, and setting and cleaning assigned dining area(s) to serve residents.
• Accurately recording temperatures on refrigerators; clean and stock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes; adhering to overall sanitation and maintenance of the kitchen.
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Community rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certifications/licenses, if applicable.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.

This is an hourly position, expected hours include days, evenings, some weekends, and some holidays.
