Job summary

fhcexternal is seeking a dining assistant in Columbus, GA to support meal service for residents. You will help set up the dining area and trays, deliver meals, and assist cooks with food preparation following established procedures and safety guidelines.

You will record refrigerator temperatures, wash dishes, and maintain sanitation. The role requires English proficiency, reliability, and the ability to work days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays, with training and compliance to all safety

Qualifications

• 1 year food service preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Sanitation and safety practices knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Set up dining area and trays for meal service following safety guidelines.
• Assist cook with food preparation and service per established procedures.
• Deliver meal carts and clean/reset dining areas for residents.
• Record refrigerator temperatures accurately; restock as needed.
• Wash dishes and maintain kitchen sanitation and cleanliness.
• Attend meetings and complete mandatory training and certifications.

Job description

You will be responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.

• Responsible for assisting cook/supervisor with food preparation and service using specific procedures, following guidelines, and regulations.
• Responsible for delivering residents’ meal carts, and setting and cleaning assigned dining area(s) to serve residents.
• Accurately recording temperatures on refrigerators; clean and stock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes; adhering to overall sanitation and maintenance of the kitchen.
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Community rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certifications/licenses, if applicable.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.

This is an hourly position, expected hours include days, evenings, some weekends, and some holidays.
