Job summary

Forefront is seeking an hourly Dining and Kitchen Assistant to support meal service operations at our facility in Mississippi.

You will set up dining areas, assist with food prep, ensure safety and sanitation, handle meal carts, and maintain temperature records. The role requires reliability, ability to follow procedures and communicate in English.

Candidates should have basic food prep knowledge and sanitation practices; training and annual competencies are provided.

Qualifications

• 1 year food service preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic Food Preparation Knowledge.
• Sanitation and Safety Practices.

Responsibilities

• Setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.
• Assisting cook/supervisor with food preparation and service using specific procedures, following guidelines, and regulations.
• Delivering residents’ meal carts, and setting and cleaning assigned dining area(s) to serve residents.
• Accurately recording temperatures on refrigerators; clean and stock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes; adhering to overall sanitation and maintenance of the kitchen.
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Community rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certifications/licenses, if applicable.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.

• Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
• Attends department meetings as required.

This is an hourly position, expected hours include days, evenings, some weekends, and some holidays.
