Astreya in San Jose, CA seeks a Server Operations Engineer II to coordinate server provisioning, deploy OS images, and manage large-scale onboarding across remote environments. You will monitor hardware and OS issues, coordinate parts/RMAs, and keep asset data accurate while engaging vendors and on-call teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Familiarity with Linux systems and diagnosing hardware issues via remote tools.
• Understanding server operations, lifecycle management, and interdependencies.
• Knowledge of out-of-band management tools like IPMI or NCSI.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track server provisioning activities including OS deployment and configuration.
• Onboard large-scale servers and perform service provisioning in remote environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair server hardware and OS-related issues daily.
• Maintain data in asset management, ticketing, and configuration systems.
• Work with vendors and remote technicians to diagnose hardware failures and RMAs.
• Manage server lifecycle: commissioning, upgrades, decommissioning, recycling.
• Handle provisioning updates, collect asset data for accuracy and compliance.
• Participate in on-call rotation and escalate complex problems to senior engineers.
