Job summary

Astreya is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer II to design and maintain cloud infrastructure in AWS, focusing on reliability, security, and automation. The role is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days on-site in Oakland, CA, and involves building deployment pipelines, IaC with Terraform, and cost governance.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in DevOps or SRE, strong scripting skills, and experience with EKS/ECS, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud security practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS, ECS, Lambda, IAM, S3, and RDS.
• Experience with Terraform, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of cloud security, vulnerability management, and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Manage and optimize EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and related AWS services.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Terraform.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automate operational processes.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot issues, and provide production support.
• Drive vulnerability remediation, security compliance, and platform upgrades.
• Improve observability, disaster recovery readiness, and operational resilience.
• Partner with development teams to streamline deployments and improve engineering productivity.
• Support AWS cost optimization and cloud governance initiatives.
