Job summary

Flying Horse Resort & Club in Colorado Springs is seeking a part-time Server to deliver exceptional food and beverage service in our Clubhouse Restaurants. You will greet guests, take orders, describe menu and wine options, and coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely, polished service.

The ideal candidate has prior luxury dining experience, strong communication, attention to detail, and a friendly, guest-focused demeanor.

Qualifications

• Two years of restaurant experience in fine dining is preferred.
• Must be detail oriented, accurate, possess good organizational abilities and be capable of multi-tasking.
• Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tables for dining by setting cloths, decorations, candles, napkins and utensils.
• Assist guests in selecting food and beverages by offering cocktails and describing the menu.
• Record patrons' choices and dietary needs; transmit orders to bar and kitchen.
• Maintain table settings, replenish utensils, and ensure timely service of courses.
• Describe and pour wine tableside and perform basic side-work as directed by management.
• Adhere to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies and follow grooming standards.

Our team members use their talent to offer the most effective services/products in the industry for the best guest experience.The Server will be passionate about our culture, food, wine, alcoholic beverages, and service to thoroughly enjoy creating excellent experiences for our members and guests. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, outgoing disposition and previous experience working in a bustling, fast-paced, fine dining setting.Prepare room for dining by setting tables with, cloth, decorations, candles, napkins, service plates and utensilsAssist Guests in selecting food and beverages by offering cocktails, suggesting courses, explaining the menu & chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines & answering food & drink preparation questionsStay updated on current menu choices, specialties, menu deviations & knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requestsKeep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progressionServe orders and anticipate additional patron needsMaintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling beveragesProperly describe, open and pour wine tablesidePerform basic side-work as needed or directed by managementProtect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policiesMaintain regular attendance in compliance with Flying Horse Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the volumeFill in for absent staff as needed and/or assist with special events as neededAdhere to grooming and appearance standards consistentlyFollow all money handling procedures when serving the guestPromptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessaryThe ideal Server will:Have a proven record within a luxury service environmentHave an eye for detailBe a great communicator and primarily be guest focusedBe determined to create a memorable customer experiencePossess strong team skillsBe physically fit and be able to stand for long periods of timeHave previous serving experienceBe highly organizedHave good knowledge of Health and Safety legislationQUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:A minimum of two years of restaurant experience in fine dining is preferredMust be detail oriented, accurate, possess good organizational abilities and be capable of multi-taskingCountry club experience preferredSchedule flexibility that includes working evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skillsCompetency in dealing with members and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacyMust possess the ability to work effectively under deadlinesADDITIONAL NOTES:Will have to work together with various staff and positions at the club. Other legally required benefits, such as workers' compensation and unemployment insurance, also apply. Additionally, we provide a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match.
