Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections is seeking a CORRECTIONAL SENTENCE TECHNICIAN - F/C for the Florida Women’s Reception Center. The role supports classifications by recalculating release dates and ensuring accurate sentence data in OBIS.

Responsibilities include collaborating with legal staff and clerks to fix commitment discrepancies, and updating inmate identifiers after intake to reflect correct sentence details.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must possess two years of secretarial experience.
• Official transcripts may be required if a college degree is submitted.

Responsibilities

• Review commitment documents to understand sentencing rules and update jail time credits.
• Collaborate with Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Sheriffs and Court Clerks to correct sentence data.
• Search OBIS for accurate inmate identification and ensure correct sentence details are entered.
• Assess new commitments to assign or verify inmate numbers and recalculate release dates as needed.
• Coordinate with Central Office on repeat offenders and document post-release supervision violations.
