Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections seeks a Parole/Probation Specialist for Circuit 090 in Orlando to manage the intake and processing of offenders, enter data into OBIS, and maintain comprehensive offender records.

The role involves interpreting sentencing documents, coordinating initial and pre-release orientation, and collaborating to ensure accurate records while reporting on-site. This is not a probation officer position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent; transcripts may be required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities on application, education, work experience, and interview.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day intake and processing of offenders in community supervision with accurate data entry into OBIS.
• Interpret, code, and enter sentencing and monetary documents into CDC and OBIS using tools like ACTS and Felony Offense Coding Manual.
• Obtain, research, verify offender data to establish initial computer records for new commitments and assist with orientation programs.
• Screen and compile offender data from NCIC/FCIC and other databases to prepare detailed prior records for new intakes.
• Develop, coordinate, and monitor community service activities and assist with job needs and program assignments; ensure offender photographs for the department site.
• Note: this is not a probation officer position.
