Job summary

CCBC is seeking a part-time adjunct Senior Programs Instructor to teach non-credit college-level courses for learners aged 60+. Courses cover art, computers, history, politics, humanities, languages, and writing, designed for social and cultural enrichment with no homework or testing.

In-person classes are offered across Catonsville, Dundalk, Essex, Owings Mills, and Hunt Valley campuses and centers, with some Zoom offerings.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a High School diploma or GED.
  • Academic degrees or professional credentials in a related discipline preferred.
  • Must be a subject matter expert.
  • Computer proficiency preferred.
  • Experience teaching or training in an adult setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach college level non-credit courses to students 60+ in art, computers, history, politics and events, humanities and culture, languages, and writing.
  • Deliver classes primarily in-person along with some Zoom sessions.

Senior Programs Instructor

The part time adjunct Senior Programs Instructor teachescollege level non-credit courses to students 60+ that focus on art,computers, history, politics and events, humanities and culture,languages, and writing. These courses are opportunities for socialand cultural enrichment and have no homework and testingrequirements.

Classes are offered during the day at Catonsville, Dundalk, Essex,Owings Mills and Hunt Valley campuses along with senior centers andretirement communities throughout Baltimore County. Courses areoffered primarily in-person along with some Zoom classes.

Pay rates for non-credit courses in Continuing Education arecommensurate with education.

Applicants must provide a summary of what they would like to teachalong with the area of the county where they would be willing towork and preferred teaching modality.

Minimum Requirements

Instructors should have experience teaching and have an expertknowledge of the topic they are proposing to teach. Instructorswill be required to complete all forms and documentation related tothe course and all documentation required by the college.

The Roth 403(b) savings feature allowsemployees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdrawtax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors:TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, PartTime Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save forretirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees maycontribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b)post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combinedfor the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYAFinancial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorizationform is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/HumanResources Forms.
