Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Zero Trust Lead (Network) to drive the policy, standards, and roadmap for Zero Trust across identity, device posture, network, cloud, and security domains. You will lead cross-tower design and perform hands-on engineering alongside the Network Operations team to ensure production readiness.

The role emphasizes governance, incident handling, and integration with Palo Alto, Zscaler, and Aruba solutions, with a hybrid work arrangement in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• Senior-level hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering/operations.
• Zero Trust: design, implementation, and operationalization across identity, device posture, network, and security controls.
• Leadership and governance with ownership of enterprise technical initiatives and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the Zero Trust strategy and cross-tower integration model across identity, device posture, network, cloud and security.
• Provide hands-on network engineering support for Cisco routing/switching and LAN/WAN services.
• Define and lead Zero Trust requirements for Palo Alto firewall controls and ZIA/ZPA integration.
• Define Zero Trust requirements for Aruba ClearPass NAC and ensure ongoing troubleshooting as needed.
• Advance Zero Trust principles: identity-aware access, least privilege, segmentation, continuous monitoring.
• Coordinate across Network Operations, IAM, Cloud, and Security to translate requirements into operational controls.
• Lead architecture reviews, identify risks, and ensure handoff-ready capabilities.
• Ensure changes follow ServiceNow ERB/CCB processes with testing and validation.
• Define monitoring and metrics for Zero Trust across access, identity, and posture.
