Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead the xPL staff and trades in Decatur, AL. You will plan, coordinate, and direct production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule alignment with contract scope.

The role requires strong leadership, deep knowledge of manufacturing methods, and the ability to read drawings and schedules. On-site management and collaboration with owners and engineers are essential for project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field; 3+ years as superintendent or related roles.
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing means, methods, scheduling and safety practices.
• Ability to read contract documents, drawings, and project schedules.
• Strong communication to non-technical audiences and stakeholders.
• Proven leadership with trades and subcontractors to deliver work.

Responsibilities

• Plan, forecast, lead, direct, and coordinate work of staff and subcontractors on projects.
• Ensure adherence to safety, schedule sequence, quality, and production planning.
• Develop Job Hazard Analyses with forepersons to enable daily pre-task planning.
• Monitor production progress and adjust work practices to boost productivity.
• Manage hiring decisions related to trade labor and communicate with managers.
• Oversee deliveries, materials, and procurement aligned with the project schedule.
• Mentor forepersons and communicate performance feedback for development.
• Identify field issues and coordinate resolution with stakeholders.
