Job summary

Apollo Solutions is partnering with a technology-driven investment organisation to hire a Senior Workplace Technology Engineer for the End User Computing team. You will design and support cloud-based virtual desktops, enhance endpoint management, and drive automation and AI-powered workplace tools.

Lead initiatives across deployment, patching, and governance, collaborating with security and infrastructure teams to modernise the digital workplace.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in desktop/endpoint engineering or similar role.
• Strong Microsoft Azure and/or AWS experience.
• Deep knowledge of endpoint provisioning and modern workplace tech.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Experience with enterprise software deployment and patch management.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and support modern cloud-based virtual desktop environments.
• Develop and enhance endpoint management solutions using Microsoft technologies.
• Manage desktop images, application delivery, device compliance, and lifecycle management.
• Build automation solutions using PowerShell and APIs to improve operational efficiency.
• Support enterprise application deployment, patching, and software governance.
• Act as an escalation point for complex endpoint, Microsoft 365, and virtual desktop issues.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams on strategic technology initiatives.
• Support the rollout and ongoing enhancement of AI-powered workplace tools and automation platforms.
• Drive continuous improvement through modernisation, standardisation, and self-service initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and operational standards.

You'll play a key role in evolving the firm's end-user computing environment, driving improvements across endpoint management, virtual desktop infrastructure, automation, and AI-powered workplace solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Desktop Engineering, Endpoint Engineering, VDI Engineering, or a similar infrastructure-focused role.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
• Deep understanding of endpoint management, device provisioning, and modern workplace technologies.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Experience managing enterprise software deployment and patching processes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, Microsoft 365, endpoint infrastructure, and virtual desktop environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

Nice to Have

• Experience leading VDI transformation or cloud migration projects.
• Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, or enterprise AI solutions.
• Experience with workflow automation and orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of modern software deployment platforms and hybrid endpoint management environments.
