Job summary

Vox Media is seeking an experienced Manager, Workplace (Facilities) to lead the day-to-day operations of our New York City office. This hands-on role oversees a small team and partners with the Head of People to ensure spaces are welcoming, functional, and supportive of how teams work together.

The role focuses on the NYC HQ with coordination to our DC office; it includes managing budgets, vendor relationships, safety/compliance, and driving space planning and office moves from planning through

Qualifications

• Experience in office operations, workplace management or facilities.
• Experience managing people, including direct reports or contractors.
• Experience with multi-site or HQ operations preferred.
• Strong judgment in safety, compliance, or sensitive workplace issues.
• Comfort with new technologies, including AI tools, to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day workplace operations and maintain a productive employee experience.
• Lead a small team of employees and contract staff; schedule and direct work.
• Own operational budgets, POs, invoices, and vendor payments; collaborate with Finance.
• Coordinate with building management on access, maintenance, and policies.
• Ensure safety/compliance and manage workplace incidents or crises.
• Support space planning and stakeholder requests; drive office moves and reconfigurations.
• Manage relationships with vendors and drive continuous improvement.
