Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Workers Compensation Claims Specialist to join the West Region Claims Team. The role involves reviewing and processing moderately complex to complex claims, determining liability and compensability, and negotiating settlements within authority.

The candidate may assist in assigning claims and monitoring caseloads. Candidates should reside within 50 miles of Lake Oswego, OR; Chandler, AZ; CA or WA residents may be eligible for remote work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in Workers' Compensation claims handling, including lost time and litigated claims.
• Direct claims handling experience from investigation through resolution is required.
• Licenses must be obtained and maintained as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts investigations of claims to analyze coverage, liability, and damages.
• Determines need for independent adjusters, cause/origin experts, and independent medical examiners.
• Assesses policy coverage and establishes reserves; adjusts reserves as necessary.
• Coordinates litigation activities and attends trials as a company representative.
• Acts as senior technical professional; mentors and trains new team members and participates in Quality Review.
