Job summary

CorVel Corporation seeks a Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor to lead a claims team, ensuring quality, productivity and service standards. The role supports the Claims Manager in recruiting, onboarding, and coaching staff, while ensuring compliance with WC laws and internal procedures.

The supervisor will guide staff on complex claims, participate in reviews and presentations, and may travel overnight for meetings. A strong communicator with leadership skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and related experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ claims handling experience required.
• Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation required.
• Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation claims must be maintained throughout employment.
• State Certification or license as an experienced claims adjuster.

Responsibilities

• Supervises WC claims staff in day-to-day operations.
• Assists Claims Manager with recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding new staff.
• Ensures staff compliance with Workers’ Compensation laws and regulatory reporting.
• Provides training, coaching and performance evaluations; suggests merit-based actions (subject to approval).
• Provides guidance on complex compensability, investigation, and litigation issues.
• Liaises with clients and employees to resolve claim-specific requests.
• Participates in customer claim reviews and presentations.
• Travel may be required for meetings.
