Job summary

RSM US LLP seeks a senior, hands-on integration engineer with deep Workday expertise to design, build, and troubleshoot API-driven integrations between Workday and enterprise platforms. Workday is the system of record; Power Automate and other tools serve as orchestration layers.

The role requires 4+ years of Workday integration experience, strong API and data model knowledge, and a solid foundation in integration engineering principles to ensure deterministic, observable, and secure

Qualifications

• 4+ years hands-on Workday integration experience.
• Deep knowledge of Workday APIs, data model, and business process behavior.
• Ability to construct API requests manually when needed and troubleshoot failures at the request/response level.
• Strong fundamentals in integration and software engineering: deterministic, observable, auditable, and resilient integrations.
• Understanding of XML structures, namespaces, and schema validation; and integration security (ISU, ISSG).
• Familiarity with API-driven architectures and orchestration vs system-of-record responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Workday integrations using Workday REST and SOAP APIs, and Workday data model concepts.
• Construct and troubleshoot XML payloads, API requests/responses, authentication, and integration context.
• Build integrations following engineering principles: validation, deterministic execution, robust error handling, and observability.
• Diagnose integration issues by analyzing API data, Workday BPM state, and cross-system data integrity.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support orchestration patterns using Power Automate and API layers.
• Ensure integrations respect system boundaries and business rules.
