Job summary

Pacer Group in Menlo Park, CA is seeking a Senior Workday Functional Architect to lead configuration of Workday HCM, Absence and Time Tracking, and Payroll. The role is onsite at our Menlo Park offices, with full-time employment and a deadline of August 31, 2026.

You will architect and implement payroll components, data migration, and custom reports, collaborating with clients to align Workday solutions with business processes.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Workday HCM concepts including security models.
• Payroll configuration including earnings, deductions, and external inputs.
• Experience building payroll components and integrating external data sources.
• Hands-on experience with time-off accruals, carryovers, and time tracking.
• Ability to configure Absence, Time Tracking, and Core HCM to client workflows.
• Experience with Hire, Onboarding, Change Job, Termination, and notification setup.

Responsibilities

• Configure Workday modules (Core HCM, Absence & Time Tracking, Payroll) to client workflows.
• Assist with data migration and ensure data accuracy.
• Identify and implement process improvements on the Workday platform.
• Utilize Workday Drive, Docs, letters, questionnaires, and surveys.
• Manage and optimize Hire, Onboarding, Change Job, and Termination processes with alerts.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Workday reporting tools.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Understanding of foundational HCM principles including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications
• Workday Payroll processing knowledge including calculation, complete, and settle steps
• Experience with building payroll components (Earnings, Deductions, Account Posting Rules, Run Categories, Payment Election Rules)
• Experience with third party payroll configuration (External Earnings, External Deductions, External Inputs)
• Experience with reporting data sources for Payroll (Payroll Results) and Accounting (Journal Lines).
• Understanding of foundational HCM principles including Business Processes, Reporting, Calculated Fields, Security, & Notifications
• Advanced hand-on experience with time-off plan configuration including complex accruals, carryovers, shadow plans and touchpoints with leaves and time tracking.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Configurations: Configure Workday modules (Core HCM, Absence and Time tracking, Payroll) to align with client workflows.
• Data management: Assist with data migration and ensure data accuracy
• Process improvement: Identify and implement improvements to business processes using the Workday platform
• Demonstrated knowledge of Workday Drive, Workday Docs, letter templates, Questionnaire, Survey, Reference Letters etc.
• Advanced hand-on process with Hire, Onboarding, Change Job, and Termination business processes. Should have worked on Notification and Alerts configuration.
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Workday reporting tools (Advanced, Matrix, Composite reports).
