HCLTech is seeking an experienced Workday Solution Architect in San Francisco to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and governance of Workday solutions across multiple functions.

The role serves as a strategic HR and business advisor, driving scalable, secure Workday architectures, and overseeing end-to-end project delivery while mentoring junior consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, IT, business or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on Workday experience in architect/lead roles.
• Proven enterprise-scale Workday implementations across modules.
• Experience designing and implementing complex Workday integrations.
• Strong understanding of Workday architecture, data flows, security, and reporting.
• Experience leading workshops, solutioning sessions, and executive presentations.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience with Workday upgrades, migrations, and optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end lifecycle of Workday projects from requirements to post-production support.
• Collaborate with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
• Design frameworks, standards, and reusable solutions across domains.
• Facilitate solution design workshops and drive consensus among stakeholders.
• Present architecture options, risks, and tradeoffs to leadership.
• Provide expert guidance on Workday best practices including security and reporting.
• Conduct design/configuration reviews to ensure governance and performance.
• Lead migrations, upgrades, release assessments, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate new Workday features to enhance platform capabilities.
• Mentor junior consultants and support implementation teams.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Workday Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and governance of Workday solutions across multiple functional areas. This role will serve as a strategic advisor to HR and business stakeholders, driving scalable and efficient Workday solutions that align with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Workday architecture, business processes, security, reporting, integrations, and enterprise-scale solution design. This individual will lead cross-functional workshops, provide thought leadership on Workday best practices, oversee end-to-end project delivery, and mentor junior Workday consultants while ensuring the Workday ecosystem remains scalable, secure, and aligned with evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of Workday projects, including requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Partner with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
• Design and develop frameworks, standards, and reusable solutions across Workday functional and technical domains.
• Facilitate solution design workshops and drive consensus across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Present architecture options, recommendations, risks, and tradeoffs to leadership teams and business partners.
• Provide expert guidance on Workday best practices, including configuration, security, reporting, integrations, and business process optimization.
• Conduct design and configuration reviews to ensure adherence to governance standards and performance expectations.
• Lead Workday migrations, upgrades, release assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate new Workday features and industry trends to enhance platform capabilities and user experience.
• Mentor and support junior consultants, functional analysts, and implementation team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on Workday experience in Solution Architect, Lead Consultant, or Architect roles.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale Workday implementations across multiple modules.
• Experience designing and implementing complex Workday integrations.
• Strong understanding of Workday architecture, data flows, security models, and reporting frameworks.
• Experience leading client workshops, solutioning sessions, and executive presentations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Workday upgrades, migrations, and post-implementation optimization initiatives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in large global enterprise environments.
• Manufacturing, Automotive, or Industrial industry experience.
• Experience leading multi-country or global Workday deployments.
• Knowledge of Workday Extend and Workday Prism Analytics.
• Experience with Workday Reporting, Dashboards, and Advanced Analytics.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Prior experience managing or mentoring Workday consulting teams.
• Strong focus on process improvement, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
