Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Wireless Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead technical design and reviews for data center and telecom projects across the United States. You’ll guide wireless system deployments, coordinate with BIM, AHJs, and carriers, and mentor engineers while ensuring high-quality, compliant outcomes.

The role covers LMR, DAS, Wi‑Fi, Private LTE/5G, CBRS, and tower studies with a focus on standards and best practices. A collaborative, hybrid work environment is offered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing wireless systems incl LMR, DAS, Wi-Fi, Private LTE/5G.
• Experience reviewing iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner.
• Lead or SME role with client interaction.
• Knowledge NFPA 72/1221/1225 and FCC rules.
• Ability to coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
• Experience with hyperscale data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Review wireless system designs in iBwave and EDX.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight for designs.
• Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages.
• Coordinate with AHJs, system owners, and carriers.
• Develop and maintain design standards and best practices.
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Mentor engineers and project leads.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders.
• Support RFP responses and technical proposals.
• Evaluate emerging wireless technologies.
