Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Wireless Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership across projects, overseeing designs for DAS, LMR, Wi‑Fi, and Private LTE/5G. You will review designs in iBwave and EDX, mentor engineers, and coordinate with BIM teams, AHJs, and carriers to ensure high-quality deliverables.

You will also support proposal development, evaluate new wireless technologies, and maintain design standards, while navigating NFPA, IFC, and FCC guidelines.

Qualifications

• Technical or associate's degree from an accredited institution.
• 10+/- years' experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems (LMR, DAS, Wi-Fi, Private LTE/5G).
• 10+/- years' experience with reviewing iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or a combination of advanced RF modeling programs.
• Experience serving as a technical lead or recognized subject matter expert.
• Experience working with clients to help them identify their wireless communications needs.
• Experience with troubleshooting wireless communication system issues from field teams.
• Experience with understanding Noise Floor, SNIR, Return Loss, and VSWR.
• Experience with optimizing networks in the design and during installation.
• Familiarity with responding to RFP's and RFI's
• Experience reviewing project budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and approving Wireless systems designs in iBwave and EDX.
• Providing technical leadership and oversight for wireless telecommunications designs.
• Coordination with BIM designers to create drawing packages.
• Coordination with AHJ's, Radio System Owners, and Carriers.
• DIV 27 specification creation, review, or modification.
• Conducting site visits and punch walks.
• Reviewing technical documents and engineering deliverables.
• Supporting commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Developing and maintaining wireless telecommunications design standards and best practices.
• Providing technical mentorship and guidance to engineers and project leads.
• Managing the relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
• Supporting proposal development and technical responses to RFP's.
• Evaluating emerging wireless technologies and recommending appropriate solutions.
