Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Wireless Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership across diverse projects, guiding design from concept to commissioning. You will work with data center systems including DAS, LMR, Wi‑Fi, Private LTE/5G, CBRS, and Tower Studies, coordinating with multiple teams and external partners.

Ideal candidates have over 10 years of experience in wireless design, with strong knowledge of iBwave/EDX/Atoll and related RF modeling tools.

Qualifications

• Technical or associate's degree from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years' experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems across LMR, DAS, Wi‑Fi, Private LTE/5G.
• 10+ years' experience with reviewing iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or a combination of advanced RF modeling programs.
• Experience serving as a technical lead or recognized subject matter expert.
• Experience working with clients to help them identify their wireless communications needs.
• Experience with troubleshooting wireless communication system issues from field teams.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 1221, and NFPA 1225.
• Knowledge of FCC Part 20, Part 90, and related standards.
• Familiarity with MOTOTRBO, DMR Tier III, P25, and related technologies.
• Familiarity with Navisworks and design coordination with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Review Wireless designs in iBwave and EDX and approve them.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight for wireless designs.
• Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages.
• Coordinate with AHJs, Radio System Owners and Carriers.
• Develop, review, or modify DIV 27 specifications.
• Conduct site visits and punch walks.
• Review technical documents and engineering deliverables.
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Develop and maintain wireless design standards and best practices.
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers and project leads.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support proposal development and responses to RFPs/RFIs.
• Evaluate emerging wireless technologies and recommend solutions.
