Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Wireless Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership across data center buildings, DAS, LMR, Wi‑Fi, and Private LTE/5G projects. You will guide design teams, review vendor drawings, and ensure standards compliance while coordinating with clients and carriers.

The role supports multiple concurrent projects with a hybrid work model, offering opportunities to influence nationwide deployments and advanced wireless solutions.

Qualifications

• Technical or associate's degree from an accredited institution.
• 10+/- years' experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems including LMR, Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS, Wi‑Fi, Private LTE/5G.
• 10+/- years' experience with reviewing iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or similar RF modeling tools.
• Experience as technical lead or SME for wireless projects.
• Experience coordinating with clients and vendors for wireless solutions.
• Experience troubleshooting wireless systems and understanding Noise Floor, SNIR, Return Loss, and VSWR.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, 1221, 1225 and FCC rules related to wireless deployments.
• Familiarity with iBwave, Navisworks or related design tools.
• Strong mentoring and leadership skills; ability to work with Fortune 50 clients.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and approving wireless system designs in iBwave and EDX.
• Providing technical leadership for wireless designs across projects.
• Coordinating with BIM designers to produce drawing packages.
• Liaising with AHJs, system owners, and carriers.
• Creating/modifying DIV 27 specifications.
• Conducting site visits and punch walks.
• Reviewing technical documents and deliverables.
• Supporting commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Developing wireless design standards and best practices.
• Mentoring engineers and project leads on technical issues.
• Managing stakeholder relationships across internal and external teams.
• Assisting with RFP/RFI responses and technical proposals.
• Evaluating emerging wireless technologies and recommending solutions.
