Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Wireless Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert to lead design and technical guidance for data center wireless systems across multiple projects. You will ensure quality and compliance while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and vendors to deliver robust wireless solutions.

The role supports diverse wireless technologies (DAS, LMR, Wi‑Fi, Private LTE/5G, CBRS) and requires deep RF engineering expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to travel to sites

Qualifications

• Technical or associate's degree from an accredited institution.
• 10+/- years' experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems (LMR, Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS, Wi-Fi, Private LTE/5G).
• 10+/- years' experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or similar RF modeling tools.
• Experience as a technical lead or subject matter expert.
• Experience working with clients to identify wireless needs.
• Experience troubleshooting wireless systems and understanding noise floor, SNIR, Return Loss, and VSWR.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and approving wireless systems designs in iBwave and EDX.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight for wireless designs.
• Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages.
• Coordinate with AHJs, Radio System Owners, and Carriers.
• Create, review, or modify Division 27 specifications.
• Conduct site visits and punch walks.
• Review technical documents and engineering deliverables.
• Support commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Develop and maintain wireless design standards and best practices.
• Mentor engineers and project leads.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders and support RFP/RFI responses.
• Evaluate emerging wireless technologies and recommend solutions.
