Hillsborough County is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to provide senior-level Windows systems administration and Azure platform support as an independent contractor. The role is remote with on-site emergency availability required, roughly 75% Windows administration and 25% Azure messaging platform support.

You will own incidents end-to-end, automate with PowerShell, Python, Terraform/Terragrunt, and GitHub, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams while being available for after-hours

Qualifications

• 7+ years of senior-level systems administration and enterprise IT operations.
• Strong Windows Server administration experience in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, hybrid identity, and Exchange Hybrid.
• PowerShell scripting and Python for administration and automation.
• Experience with Azure environments and troubleshooting Azure services.
• Experience with Terraform/Terragrunt and Git/GitHub; on-site during emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Administer and support Windows Server environments with patching and security hardening.
• Manage Entra ID, AD, hybrid identity, Exchange Hybrid, Teams, and permissions.
• Administer DNS/Infoblox, certificates, and privileged access functions.
• Respond to incidents, serve as escalation point for complex issues, after-hours on-call as needed.
• Support and troubleshoot a custom Azure-native messaging solution via logs and RCA.
• Troubleshoot Azure Service Bus, App/Functions, Cosmos DB, Key Vault, and networking.
• Use PowerShell, Python, Terraform/Terragrunt, Git/GitHub for IaC, automation, and runbooks.
